Our story is an unfolding one of initiative, social enterprise and community service.
Siop Llangors Shop is in the centre of Llangors village five miles east of Brecon. It is a well-stocked general grocery store for all daily needs and a coffee shop serving award winning coffee and delicious locally produces cakes to visitors and locals alike. It is staffed by a manager, supporting staff and over 50 volunteers. We are open
seven days a week and are a social hub for the local community.

Our shop enhances the life of the community and its visitors in many ways. It is a convenient and welcoming place to shop and to meet. We source many of our products locally thus supporting the local economy and reducing our carbon foot print where possible.
There are many ways people participate in its success. Some volunteers assist with deliveries, others do shifts in the shop and coffee shop or contribute their skills as members of the Management Committee. Others purchase shares. The shop provides volunteering opportunities for locals and work experience for young people.
If you are looking to volunteer or in need of work experience or if you are a local producer looking to sell your products in the shop then come and see us.
Established as a Community Benefit Society to meet the need for a local shop and social hub, we welcomed our first customers in November 2021. The National Lottery Community Fund, The Prince’s Countryside Fund, the Brecon Beacons National Park Authorities Sustainability Fund and Brecon Rotary contributed to start- up costs.
The shop is owned by community shareholders who elect a Management Committee of local residents. The shop was founded by the community for the community and is following an exciting development plan to extend and enhance this role.
