Meet / Join The Team
We have both always been heavily involved in local village life and are working hard to bring the community shop dream to life. We enjoy working alongside our volunteers and greatly appreciate their contribution.

Welcome to our New(ish) Shop Manager. In June we were delighted to announce the appointment of Jenni-Sue Freeland as the new Shop Manager. This was a new exciting chapter for our community hub. Jenni-Sue, (or JS as she is known), is a resident of the village, and came to us with a wealth of experience in hospitality management and a passion for community engagement. She is committed to enhancing the shopping experience while maintaining the friendly, welcoming atmosphere that our shop is known for.
With the Internet spreading linke wildfire and reaching every part of our daily life, more and more traffic is directed to websites in search for information.
At the time of the announcement JS shared her excitement about the new role: “I am honoured to be joining the Siop Llangors Shop team. Llangors village has always had a sense of community, but the shop and coffee shop enhances that, and brings the wider community together. I am looking forward to working with all the volunteers and customers and build on the shop’s success.
JS is supported by her fantastic team of staff and volunteers.

– Get In Touch –Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What If I decide I don’t like volunteering?
A. There is no long term commitment and you can stop at any time, but we would ask that you give us as much notice as possible.
Q. I haven’t got much knowledge of computers. Is it difficult to operate the till?
A. You won’t need any special skills, you’ll be given lots of help and support to learn and you won’t be left alone to operate the till until you feel confident enough.
Q. Can I choose what tasks I do?
A. We’d like all our volunteers to be trained on all the day to day tasks as it gives us more flexibility. However, on your shift you can express a preference and divide tasks with your fellow volunteer to suit you both as much as possible.
Q. Will I be alone in the shop?
A. No, all shifts will have at least one other person working in the shop.
Q. Can I work with a friend?
A. Friends or a couple can certainly work together. Sometimes it can be a great help to work with a familiar face if you are a little nervous.
Q. What if my circumstances change and I can’t do regular shifts?
A. We will have a list of standby volunteers who could help out during staff shortages due to sickness or holidays for example and you could join that list.
Q. Will I have an apron?
A. You will have something to identify you as a volunteer, but it hasn’t been decided yet whether it will be a badge, tee shirt or apron.
